Locales Entertainment is pleased to bring you the Double Grand Prix DH 2013. This is a series of downhill competitions in two radical tracks known as Formula 1 and Formula 2. Formula 1 will be held at the Lago Cerrillo Downhill road in the Southern City of Ponce, while the Formula 2 races will be held at the El Guama Downhill road in the Northern city of Hatillo. These races will take place immediately after the Guajataca Downhill 2013 races which occur 25 to 27 January 2013 in the NW town of Quebradillas. We expect the attendance of more than 12 countries and a large number of local pros going head-to-head on these two new tracks.
The race heats will hold between 4 to 8 competitors, with racers identified by colored armbands and a simple point?s elimination process will be used. All racers will be required to use all safety equipment, full face helmet, leather suit or knee-elbow pads, and gloves. These DH races are endorsed by the Puerto Rico Department of Sports and Recreation. A more detailed description of these races follows:

Formula 1: El Lago Cerrillo Downhill is to be held at the Maraguez neighborhood on State Road # 139 in Ponce, the Island?s Southernmost City. This track consists of 12 curves, 5 of which are tight curves. This track develops speeds of around 50 mph for 3 (three) minutes and thirty (30) seconds of descent aprox. This route has wide lanes which allow 4 to 8 competitors at a time to maneuver comfortably. This road has no neighbors in this area. We expect a robust attendance of all International and local competitors. Ponce?s City Hall is fully commitment to this event and intends to make it an annual event following the GDH annual races.
Race Day, FORMULA 1: El Lago Cerrillo DH ? Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 7:30 am to 6pm State Road # 139, Maraguez (Cerrillo Lake), City of Ponce.

Formula 1Schedule: Equipment Inspection and competitors meeting at 7:30am, Practice runs 8:30am to 9:30am. Competition starts at 10am, end at 5pm, awards presentation from 5:30pm to 6pm.

Formula 1 Prizes: Total $2,000 in cash plus DH products for all categories ? Open DH: $1,000 in prize money split down to the 4th place; Junior II DH: $400 split down to the 4th. place; Master DH: $300 prize to the 4th. place; Women DH: $300 split down to the 4th. place; Sliding: $100 cash prize for 1st place only in Men?s and Women?s and Junior I with DH products awarded down to the 4th. places. The awards could increase by the time of the races.

Categories and slots: Junior I DH (Boys and girls, ages 7 to 13 years), Women DH (All ages), Masters DH (+30 years), Junior II DH (14 to 17 years), Open DH (All ages) and Sliding (All ages, both sexes). The open slots in all categories will depend on the number of participants by each category and may be shifted, depending on turn-out.

Formula 2: El Guama Downhill will be held in the Barrio Capaez neighborhood on State Road # 130 in the NW city of Hatillo (the dairy capital of Puerto Rico). This track consists of three curves; two of of which are difficult curves at high speeds. This track develops speeds of around 45 mph or more, with a 1 (one) minute and thirty (30) seconds descent. This route has smooth asphalt and wide lanes that can easily accommodate 4 to 6 competitors at the same time; this event will be the second tournament on this race course. We expect the same attendance of competitors from the GDH and the Formula 1 events. We have the commitment of the Hatillo?s Municipal Administration to make this an annual event as well.FORMULA 2, Competition Day: El Guama DH ? Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 7:30 am to 6pm, State Road # 130, Barrio Capaez, City of Hatillo.

Formula 2 Schedule: Equipment Inspection and competitors meeting at 7:30 am, Practice runs from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Competition starts at 10am until 5pm, awards presentation from 5:30 pm to 6pm.

Formula 2 Prizes: $3,000 in cash and Dh products ? Open DH: $1,200 ? to be awarded down to the 4th. place; Junior II DH: $800 be awarded down to the 4th. place; Master DH: $400 be awarded down to the 4th. place; Women DH: $400 be awarded down to the 4th. place; Sliding: $100 prizes for 1st. Registration for 2 (two) categories: $100 and registration for 3 (three) categories:$120. No refunds unless incidental evidence is presented justifying the absence. Entry fees includes: T-shirt of the Formula 1 and Formula 2 events.

In a development that arguably says as much (or as little) about the Eagles? players as it does about Mike Vick?s leadership skills (or lack thereof), Vick lambasted his soon-to-be former teammates on Monday.

Per CSNPhilly.com, Vick complained about the players? ?lack of effort,? which he described as ?very evident.?

?It?s all about focus, dedication and commitment,? Vick said. ?Until you get guys who are willing to better themselves week in and week out and want to win, you?re not going to win.? And I haven?t played with guys like that.? It?s unfortunate for coach thing turned out the way they are.? It could have been a lot better.? This locker room could have dictated that.?

It?s ironic, to say the least.? Vick was precisely that guy for the first six years of his career.? And some believe that he has reverted to being complacent since putting together an MVP-caliber performance in 2010.

Vick said the lack of effort from the other players ?pisses [him] off.?

And Vick said that he?s not to blame.? ?I give 110 percent effort,? Vick said.? ?My body is scarred up all year.? I?m hurt, I?m bruised, get up after every hit and still try and fight and push.? I do that for my coaches.? I do that for my teammates.? And I would expect the same thing in return.?

Vick admitted that the outcome arose at least in part from his failure to assert himself in the locker room.

?I should have done it,? Vick said.? ?But I tried to take the modest approach, I tried to lead by example.? I held a team meeting and tried to help guys recommit.? It was still the same thing over and over again.? I?m not going to tell a grown man the same thing twice because the reason I ended up incarcerated was because people told me the same thing over and over again and I didn?t listen.? I feel like if you don?t learn in the first go-around, you disregard it.? You just deal with the consequences because there will always be consequences.?

But here?s where Vick?s logic falls apart.? Vick was in the past surrounded by a bunch of ?yes? men and enablers.? A football team commands leadership ? and it holds accountable those who don?t respond.

Ultimately, Vick?s remarks aren?t the ideal way to persuade other teams that he?s suited to provide leadership in a new city.

Holly Graf was booted as commander of a warship in 2010 for ?cruelty and mal??treatment? of her 400-member crew. According to the inspector general, Graf was the closest thing the U.S. Navy has seen to a female Captain Bligh.

Graf?s dark side emerged when she became executive officer of the destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur in 1997. In 2003, Graf made U.S. naval history as the first female commander of a destroyer, the Churchill. A chaplain spoke with her about the lowest morale he?d seen in visits to more than 200 ships. She went ?bonkers? and refused to speak with him.

In 2008, she assumed command of the USS Cowpens. Instead of using the direct language of command, Graf chose profanity and humiliation, failing to train the people she belittled.

Graf was sidelined and given an honor?able retirement in 2012, but questions remain: How did the Navy miss her toxic behavior? Was she set up to fail?

Nicole Waybright, an officer who served with Graf on the Curtis Wilbur, thinks the Navy felt pressure to promote women, so it ?put her on the best and most complicated tactical platform.?

But Graf had neither the temperament nor the experience for the job.? ?She was a terrible ship handler,? Waybright says.

Others are less forgiving. Shawn Smith, a retired Navy captain, is appalled and angry over the fate of young officers like her daughter who left the Navy after serving under Graf. ?These kids,? she says, ?did not deserve this kind of leadership.?

Bottom line: Never rush promotions.

Within the Vacation Rental property sector there are many market segments. Many vacation rental providers ignore them and simply treat the market as a whole. An attitude of ?here is a property, rent it?. In theory that is ok, but when everyone is doing it, you need to find a way to stand out from the crowd. If you are lucky enough to have an amazing property then it may speak for itself but those who are trying to rent an ?average apartment or condo? may need to try harder.

All over the world human beings have one thing in common, their love of pets. Of course this does not apply to everyone but many, many people own at least one. Anyone?s property can be pet friendly you just need to give it some thought. Basics like suitable drinking dishes for a cat or dog. Welcome packs can include a tin of cat or dog food. Cat litter tray and cat litter. Plastic bags so that owners can clear up excrement from outside areas. How about providing a dog or cat bed? Maybe include information in your ?information pack? about good walks for dogs and also contact details for the local vet as well as the local doctor. The more care you provide for the pet the more likely the same guest will return again.

Make sure you tell people. Good vacation rental agents will have their websites and computer systems setup so that pet friendly properties are clearly identified. This is not just a ?yes or no? setting. It should include the size of pet. There is a big difference between a small dog and a big one.

Size matters especially with dogs. You must specify in advance the size of dog you will accept and make sure that you include in your terms and conditions, relevant information relating to compensation for damages caused by a pet. Check insurance terms and conditions too. When a small terrier jumps on a sofa not a lot happens. It is slightly different when an old english sheepdog does the same.

Length of stay is important too. If someone is going to stay for a month or even two (very common in southern Europe) then their pet can become a big issue. To put them in kennels will cost a lot of money and it is for a long time. You can charge a premium for accepting a pet so this is not a ?cost? issue.

Community rules need checking before you take the plunge. Does the community permit pets? Some do not. This maybe a rental property but the same rules usually apply to guests as well as to the property owner.

More savvy vacation rental agents will include pet friendly sections on their websites or even specialised mini-websites with only their pet-friendly properties. Find one covering your area and see if they have any specific requirements.

Don?t forget pets are not just cats and dogs. Occasionally parrots, hamsters, snakes and reptiles will travel with the family on holiday. For some a pet is just like a child and they will move heaven and earth for them.

So if you want to stand out from the crowd consider pets and make your property ?pet friendly?. You may find it already is and you just need to tell people.
